Chain Length
Choosing the right chain length is essential - whether you're looking to make a bold statement, match a classic style with a timeless pendant, or layer several different styles together.
Your Options Are Endless - Style Without Limits!
- Those looking for a feminine look usually prefer 18-inch chains.
- For a more masculine vibe, consider some of our longer lengths, like 20 to 24-inch chains.
- If you're looking for something that will sit right at your collarbone, many find 16-inch chains to be the perfect length.
- To find your bracelet or anklet chain length, wrap a flexible measuring tape around the area and measure in inches. If you are in between sizes or would like a looser fit, size up. If you do not have a measuring tape, you can use a piece of string, mark it at the overlap and lay flat to measure with a ruler.

Both your height and neck measurement can affect where your chain will lay.
For Example:
- Someone with a large neck may find that their chain lays higher than they expected. Tip: Choose a chain that's a few inches longer, even if it may appear to lay lower on others.
- A person with a short stature orders a chain length based off the models shown, but their 16" chain fits like an 18" chain. Tip: A short stature sometimes also means a shorter torso. Pick a chain one size shorter, even if it looks too short in the photo.
At CASTEL, we love all bodies and strive to represent as many body types as we can. Don't overthink it, just choose what you feel will work! If it doesn't fit exactly right, just reach out and we will adjust the length for you.

Chain Width
Here is where your artistic expression can come to life: choosing the width of your chain can drastically change the energy of your whole look!
Wide chains can be bold, loud, masculine, empowering.
Thin chains can be delicate, elegant, feminine, mysterious.
Experiment with different styles and you'll be surprised how easy it is to create your unique look!
A few important things to know if your chain will hold a pendant:
- Make sure your pendant has the proper bail clearance for the width of your chain. This means the opening that the chain will go through must be large enough to fit your chain. To find the bail clearance in any of our products, look in the item description!
- A 1mm chain may not hold up to a heavy pendant. Although it fits through the bail, it's important to consider the strength of your chain.
- When purchasing a pendant and chain to be worn together, please check the box at checkout or leave a note so we can disassemble the chain, add the pendant, and solder the clasp back on if necessary.

Chain Clasp
- The most common necklace clasps are spring rings and lobster clasps.
- Adorned or heavier bracelets often feature box and fold over clasps.
- For those looking for more security, try a bayonet or barrel clasp.
- At CASTEL, accessibility to all is the standard. For those with less dexterity, we recommend choosing a magnetic clasp or a tension clasp like toggle or hook & eye. We also offer safety chains and bracelet fastening tools!
